Born 1942, Michael studied at Wimbledon and Camberwell Schools of Art from 1968 to 1973. Michael is widely regarded as Britain's best living Impressionist. He paints land and seascapes, flowering fields, hedgerows, floral arrangements and portraits. His reputation was much enhanced following his exhibition in 1995 at the Tate, St. Ives.
Michael is a prolific artist who has devoted his entire life to painting. It's his passionate interpretation of nature which produces the intensity of his thought provoking images painted with oils in a heavily rich impasto style.
Michael is an active Member of the Chelsea Arts Club and works from his studio in Gulval, near Penzance, Cornwall. He has exhibited at numerous galleries in the United Kingdom and abroad, including the Tate, St. Ives and the Royal Academy of Art. Michael's paintings hang in many public, corporate and private collections.
